Jokester characters who hide anxiety are such a weakness of mine — I just relate to them — and my love of Prompto was no exception to this weakness. However, Prompto is exceptional for a different reason. My favorite video game franchise of all time is by far The Legend of Zelda. I didn't grow up with any Square Enix games so Final Fantasy never even had the opportunity to rival that... Until XV. For a time this game even had me questioning what my favorite game in general was — up until that point I had always said The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, but when after experiencing XV, I flip flopped — I wasn't sure anymore. Of course in 2022 I stumbling into Final Fantasy XIV addiction and in 2023 The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom came out both crushing my previous opinions into oblivion. But XV has still stuck with me for being the exception it was. Despite pacing issues the story was so beautiful, and the costume direction for the four main characters was extremely strong. I'm so glad I created Prompto and he is one of my most worn costumes to date!

This costume was created mostly from modifying pre-existing things. I painted a cotton tank top, painted some cheap jeans, modified some boots, and distressed patches I bought from Serephitic Embroidery. The jacket however was made from scratch from black twill and a few of the accessories were as well from pleather pieces. I also fell in love with using studs while creating this costume. I want to use them on everything I possibly can nowadays (and I actually kinda do). Look into the creation process of this costume in this showcase video:
