SKA-LETON

A casual, ready-to-wear collection inspired by ska and two-tone, grunge, and skeletons. Created for a bold young woman who enjoys monochromatic but flashy clothing. All prints were custom designed for this collection.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT SKA-LETON

I've mentioned elsewhere on this site that I am not a huge fan of prints and that I beleive they even cheapen some looks, but when creating casual ready-to-wear, that's not actually a bad thing—there is a time for slouchy casual clothing. I don't design a lot of casual clothing, so for this collection I aimed to change that. I challenged myself by designing six original textile prints for this collection, three repeating and three not, and designed looks for them of varying degrees of casual. As I'm sure you can tell, I was very inspired by ska and the two-tone movement, and also skeletons while creating these looks, so I decided to call this collection Ska-leton. Altogether it's still rather bold to look at, but individually I think the looks are quite comfortable and chill and I'm quite happy with my continued adventures in designing prints.
