Hey I'm MadDog! I get carried away making costumes!!
I'm an awarded cosplay craftsmanship competitor and YouTube Partner who specializes in creating unique mixed media costumes and thoroughly researched open discussion and educational format video content. While my beginnings were humble, acting as a volunteer fandom meet up host, I now strive to demystify the cosplay contest experience through my YouTube channel, contest judging and critique sessions, and my new Elevate Your Cosplay panel series.

I believe that any cosplayer can compete and that they deserve to feel confident in the contests they sign up for.
While personal accounts of cosplay contests are not hard to find online, contest facts and history, information on contest trends over time or for specific regions, and documentation on competitors is actually quite difficult to find.
For the past few years I have taken on some massive cosplay contest research projects and have been sharing my findings publicly on YouTube so that that anyone who wants to compete can use this information to their benefit. With thousands of likes and hundreds of comments adorning my videos, it's clear I've made huge strides for this community.

I aim to help bring cosplay into a new era — one where the community is considered widely accessible and the craft is respected as an art.
Between my experience and accolades, and the research I have been doing for the community, event coordinators and staff have been begun coming to me for research-backed advice and event services. It is my goal as a content creator to use these opportunities and my platform to address the needs of the community. I aim to help better our spaces, resources, and relations with the greater pop culture community.
Cosplay as a word encompasses a spectacular variety of things, but I want to create work that elevates the connotation of that word. It is my goal as an artist to create work with true presence, that evokes feeling, and that undoubtedly earns respect. I intend to create pieces that will be remembered beyond me, and I’d love to show you what I have to offer.
One day I hope to participate in an international contest!
